On Dec. 5, the Asheville Police Department received a report of a package theft in South Asheville. The witness was able to provide a vehicle description and officers located the suspects. Ways to protect your deliveries

Throughout the year, especially during the holiday season, the Asheville Police Department encourages you to take precaution to secure your packages.

  • Don’t leave packages sitting outside for long period of time — Consider having items delivered to your place of employment or have a neighbor pick them up.
  • Require signature upon delivery — You pay a little extra, but it ensures receipt of the package.
  • Consider an alternate delivery — Such as a package locker or Amazon locker.
  • Consider the installation of technology — Install a wireless security camera pointed at your doorstep, or a Package Guard.
