Bill Nye to conduct weather conversation at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium

American science educator, engineer, comedian, television presenter, author and inventor Bill Nye will conduct a conversation on stage at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium at 7 p.m. April 1, 2019.   Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 29 at the U.S. Cellular Center Box Office, online at Ticketmaster.com, and by phone at 800-745-3000.

 

The conversation on the topic of extreme weather and climate change will be moderated by Greta Johnsen of WBEZ Chicago and host of the NERDette podcast.  Greta, along with Bill Nye, will take a deep dive into climate change as evidenced by extreme weather.

 

Ticket Prices range from $37 – $69 plus applicable fees.  The Collider VIP Package is also available and includes preferred seating, and autographed custom made 1 of 175 Bill Nye poster, and a backstage meet and greet with photo opportunity after the event.

About Bill Nye –Mr. Nye has a mission to help foster a scientifically literate society and to help people everywhere understand and appreciate the science that makes our world work.  Making science entertaining and accessible is something Bill has been passionate about his entire life. Along with his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell, Bill joined his astronomy professor Carl Sagan when he was elected the American Humanist Association’s Humanist of the year in 2010.  He was also honored by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers with the Ralph Coates Roe Medal in 2012. Bill holds Honorary Doctorate degrees from six universities: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Groucher College, Johns Hopkins University, Quinnipiac University, Willamette University, and Lehigh University. He has delivered commencement addresses at most of these schools along with the University of California Santa Barbara, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Harvey Mudd College and Caltech.
