From crafts to camps: Asheville Parks & Rec offers holiday programs

It’s hard to believe that it’s holiday time again. If you’re looking for some great programs for a price that won’t destroy your gift-buying budget, Asheville Parks & Recreation offers a lot of options. Take a look at this line-up:
A Winter’s Tail
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5
Location: WNC Nature Center, 75 Gashes Creek Road
Joint the holiday fun at the WNC Nature center with crafts, garland creations, wildlife art, face painting, a holiday hay maze, educational programs and a visit by Santa. Regular admission rages apply ($10.95/adults, $6.95/ages 3-15, $9.95/65 and older, under 2 get in FREE) and members of the Friends of the WNC Nature Center get in FREE.

Holiday gift making
4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 7 and 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 13
Location: Montford Recreation Center, 34 Pearson Drive
For grades K through five. Come to one or both. Kids get to make 3 holiday gifts to give to family and friends and all supplies are included. Cost is only $10 per class. Pre-registration is required.

Breakfast-w.Santa_
Breakfast with Santa
Dec. 12 with two seatings offered, at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
Location:  Stephens-Lee Recreation Center, 30 George Washington Carver Ave.
Have breakfast with Santa and celebrate the holidays with a morning full of fun! Enjoy a pancake breakfast, a holiday-themed dance workshop and make your very own ornament to take home. This program is designed for kids ages 2 to 9 and their parents. The cost is only $8 per person and reservations are required since space is limited.

Holiday Camp at Montford Recreation Center
Dec. 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 and 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Children will enjoy games, activities, crafts, exercise and all kinds of holiday fun.
Fee: $40 per child.
