    SCHEDULED WATER INTERRUPTIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 23, 2019 City of Asheville Contact Water Maintenance Division Phone 259-5975 City of Asheville Water Interruption on Broadway Street is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2019. The City of Asheville has scheduled the following water interruption for water valve, hydrant replacements, general system maintenance or connection of new water infrastructure by a contractor into the City of Asheville water system. In the North District, the affected areas are Broadway Street from Hillside Street to West Chestnut Street, Chestnut Street from Broadway Street to Holland Street and Magnolia Avenue from Broadway Street to Flint Street. This shutdown is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Surrounding areas may experience no water to low pressure during this interruption. When the work is completed customers may experience discolored water or air in the lines and are advised to wait until the water is clear before using it.     City of Asheville Boil Water Advisory (BWA) The City of Asheville (COA) Water Resources Department would like to report an emergency water interruption due to a waterline repair on/in _Redwood Road from Griffing Boulevard to Country Club Road including Dogwood Road_. This interruption of water requires issuance of a Boil Water Advisory. COA encourages customers to vigorously boil tap water for 1 minute before consuming it. COA is performing laboratory testing and the advisory will be lifted when tests confirm the possibility of risk is not present. Customers will receive notification that the advisory has been lifted via the same communication process as this advisory. When water systems experience low pressure or lose pressure, there is an increased risk of contamination. This does not mean that the water is contaminated, but that the possibility exists. Once pressure returns, there is the possibility that some discolored water or air could be present in the lines. Customers are advised to run cold water for 5-10 minutes or until water is clear. Properties in the affected areas are receiving this notification via the COA automated system or door hangers.     City of Asheville Lifts Boil Water Advisory The City of Asheville (COA) Water Resources Department would like to officially lift the Boil Water Advisory on/in Lynwood Cir from Lees Crk Rd to dead end of Lynwood Cir including: Friendly Way, Erwin Dr, Lynwood Ct, Vail Ct, & Aspen Ct. Laboratory results have confirmed that the water supply is free from contaminants. It is NO longer necessary for customers to boil water before consuming. Customers may return to normal water usage for any and all purposes but we suggest you flush cold water lines for 5-10 minutes before using.
